With a number of companies struggling to find employees and many people hunting for career opportunities, a job fair seemed like a logical step for the Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority (CIEDA) and the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce. These two entities are partnering to host a county-wide job fair on Thursday, July 29, at the Claremore Expo Center, 400 Veterans Parkway. The fair will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend or to participate.

Companies from a variety of industries will be in attendance, from retail and hospitality to insurance and manufacturing. Each vendor will have a booth, and a private space will be set up for interviews on-site.

“We have had several inquiries at the Chamber on which companies are hiring locally,” said Barby Myers, President and CEO of the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce. “When CIEDA asked if we would like to partner on this endeavor, we knew it would be a great opportunity for a lot of Rogers Countians to find solid employment. We are excited about the number of companies that have already signed up, and we know it will be a great event.”

"At the close of 2020, nearly 10 million Americans were unemployed due to the COVID-19 crisis," said Caitlyn Ngare, CIEDA Talent Development Coordinator. "Today, key sectors essential to the Oklahoma economy are once again actively hiring for various positions and beginning the process to overcome the challenges brought on by COVID-19. Ensuring our community has the talent and skill set required to fill these positions is crucial to the state's recovery process."
